“Caywood” English Officers Model “Semi-finished” Kit

This is a mid 18^th Century English Officer’s style flintlock fowler.  Available with a 37-inch round barrel as a 12 gauge smoothbore or .62 caliber rifle.  This Officer’s Model  features a fully engraved sterling silver thumb piece, fully engraved brass butt plate, trigger guard and side plate, sling swivels, a fine English sporting lock with finely beaded borders and water resistant pan and a nicely figured maple stock.  The trigger pull is 14 1/8 inches.

The kit is exactly the same as what is offered directly from Caywood with the exception that we have added sling swivels.  The semi-finished kit features a 98% in-letted stock, 100% in-letted barrel and lock, pre-drilled holes in the stock for the tang bolt, lock bots, barrel tenons and ramrod thimbles.  The barrel tenons are installed and slotted, front sling swivel is installed, front sight installed, the tang bolt hole has been pre-drilled and tapped, the lock bolts holes are tapped and the touch-hole is drilled and coned.  Also included is the safety-use manual, bluing solution and stain.  While these kits are not the simplest and not the cheapest kits available we feel they are the best and have the potential to be the best functional finished guns on the market.
